What are moles?

Moles are simply small, brown coloured spots of skin caused by the formation of a cluster of skin cells that produce melanin. They can be anywhere on the body, most people have them, and they are usually absolutely nothing to be worried about tunless they change in colour, shape, or size, or become itchy or bleed.

They have a smooth edge and are usually oval-shaped or round, they can be rough or smooth, flat or raised, and sometimes have hair growing from them.

Babies can be born with them, they can develop in later life, they can fade, and they can darken – particularly during pregnancy, and although they are quite normal, sometimes people prefer to have them removed for cosmetic rather than medical reasons.

Cryopen Cryotherapy can provide a quick and effective localised solution for the removal of unwanted moles.
