What is redness and rosacea?

Rosacea is a long-term, inflammatory skin condition that mainly affects the face and initially often shows itself a redness on the face across the cheeks, chin, forehead, nose, neck and chest.

Although it comes and goes, rosacea can result in tiny broken blood vessels that cause thread veins to appear which don’t go away by themselves.

Other symptoms of rosacea can include dry skin, sore eyelids, thicker skin particularly around the nose, and small red or pink bumps which may contain a yellowy liquid.

Some people may have a genetic predisposition towards developing rosacea and a family history does suggest an increased possibility.

Although rosacea is generally more common in women, its symptoms can be more severe in men and it usually develops in middle age and beyond.

While rosacea can’t be cured, and symptoms are likely to get worse over time, it can certainly be helped by treatments such as IPL Skin Pigmentation treatments and Celluma Professional LED Therapy.
